Hi, I’m Michelle Cheifetz, LSW, and I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where children, teens, and families can feel understood and empowered. I know that reaching out for help can be a big step, and I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a belief that every person has unique strengths to build on.
My background includes a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on child and adolescent mental health, play therapy, trauma, and relationship dynamics. I draw from strengths-based approaches such as play therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. Above all, I believe in building a collaborative relationship where clients feel heard, valued, and supported as they work toward growth and healing. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, helping them tackle challenges like anxiety, emotional regulation, social struggles, and life transitions.
My goal is to meet young people where they are, while also supporting parents and caregivers in navigating the ups and downs of development. Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than a decade teaching in preschool settings, which deepened my understanding of child development and the importance of fostering trust and connection with both kids and families.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my cat, family, and friends. I also enjoy horseback riding and gardening.
