#LiveAuthentic With Professional Counseling Services
Ellie Mental Health in Brainerd Lakes, Minnesota isn’t your average therapy clinic. We’ve created a comfy, judgment-free zone where you can be authentic, get real about where you’re at in your mental health, and receive the compassionate care you deserve. We strive to break down treatment barriers and provide you with customized counseling services that meet your therapy needs.
Work one-on-one with a therapist who will provide you with mental health care individualized to your needs. Whether you are seeking treatment for a mental illness, support for a recent life change, or help in a specific area of your life, individual therapy is just between you and your therapist.
Attend therapy session with your partner – whether you’re just dating, engaged, or married. Couples therapy is a safe place to talk through relationship issues with a counselor you can trust, get help navigating a divorce, or build a strong foundation for the future.
Attend therapy from the comfort and convenience of your home, or wherever else you have an internet connection. With online therapy, you get deep with your therapist while sipping tea in your favorite comfy chair, snuggled in your pajamas, or between work meetings.
Work through family conflict with a therapist who can facilitate the conversation, work through harmful patterns, and improve communication skills. Family therapy is a group effort – bring your partner, the kids, the in-laws, stepchildren, your siblings, or whoever else is involved with your family dynamic.
Get support in helping children manage mental health symptoms and learn rehabilitative skills to set them up for success down the road. This mental health service provided by a Children’s Therapeutic Services & Support therapist is a team effort involving both children and their families.
If physical health, significant mental health symptoms, or socio-economic limitations are keeping you or your loved one from accessing the treatment you need, we offer in-home therapy. We work with a variety of concerns that affect multiple age groups.
If a combination of therapy and medication management is the right treatment path for your mental health needs, our psychiatric prescriber can prescribe, evaluate, and manage your medication. Our prescribers work closely with your therapist to ensure you are receiving the best treatment possible.
Children are not immune to emotional or psychological challenges, and younger kids may struggle to express difficult emotions or talk about trauma. Play therapy allows children to process and express how they’re feeling, learn healthy coping skills, and strengthen behavioral and communication skills.
Loss and bereavement can be immobilizing. You might not know how to move forward or what comes next. Grief therapy provides you with professional support as you work through loss, process any trauma, and navigate next steps.
Work through unresolved trauma and identify the areas of your life that trauma has impacted. Trauma-informed therapy means working with a therapist who has a deep understanding of the may ways trauma can affect your life and your overall sense of self, safety, and well-being.

EMDR is a cutting-edge, evidence-backed treatment approach for treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and a wide range of mental health disorders. EMDR therapy often involves you talking about your trauma while moving your eyes back and forth to reprocess the traumatic experience.

Meet Your Therapist at Brainerd Lakes
Ashley Catlin, MSW
Ashley is a compassionate individual that believes therapy can be hard for an individual to do. Coming to terms with needing help is a very difficult thing to admit and Ashley looks forward to working with clients who have taken that step to continue their journey in growth.
Ashley believes in making the client feel comfortable and safe by making it a relaxing setting with open dialogued conversation.
Most of Ashley's experience is working with older adults. Ashley has worked with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia and suicidal ideations.
Ashley is open to many approaches as each individual and situation is different and may call for a different approach. Ashley uses strength based approach often since she has worked mostly with adults who have lost most of their independence and don’t feel as though they offer much to anybody anymore.
Outside of work Ashley enjoys spending time with her family. Some of her favorite activities include mountain biking, hiking and reading. She loves humor and uses sarcasm often!
