Allison Gainer is a licensed associate counselor (LAC) and Ed.D candidate in educational leadership who is passionate about guiding individuals through life’s challenges and transitions with a compassionate, holistic approach. Her specialties include grief counseling, neurodiverse affirming counseling, trauma-informed care, LGBTQIA+ counseling, disability accommodation consultation, service dog accommodation assistance, animal-assisted interventions, chronic illness counseling, and support through life transitions, with a dedicated focus on helping clients establish healthy boundaries. Allison’s educational journey includes a B.A. in Dance from Stockton University and an M.A. in Counseling in Educational Settings from Rowan University. She believes in embedding mental health mechanisms and self-care practices into every aspect of life, taking a strength-based approach to understanding the “whole person,” and developing personalized plans aligned with unique aspirations. As a neurodiversity-affirming and culturally competent counselor, Allison prioritizes creating an inclusive environment, focusing on social justice to ensure accessibility and equity. Her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership fuel her passion for policy reform, aiming to create systemic change that supports the well-being and success of all individuals. She’s passionate about disability accommodation consultation, service dog accommodation assistance, and the healing power of animals in therapy.
