Alana is a Resident in Counseling and received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma from Grand Canyon University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, as well as individuals from diverse multicultural backgrounds and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Prior to entering the counseling field, she worked in social work with individuals experiencing homelessness, which deepened her passion for supporting individuals and communities who may face unique barriers and challenges.
Alana believes in meeting clients where they are and creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being their authentic selves by taking a person centered approach. She works collaboratively with each client to understand their individual experiences, strengths, and goals while adapting her approach to meet their unique needs. Her goal is to empower clients to gain greater self-awareness, develop effective coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges while supporting them throughout their individual journey.
