Sara is a licensed independent clinical social worker with 3 years of experience working with children and families in an outpatient setting. They have experience using cognitive and relational therapies to help children and families who are struggling with a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and trauma. Sara also has experience working with neurodiverse children and families, living with diagnosis such as ASD and ADHD. Sara includes, play, self expression, and gross motor activity with most clients.
Sara’s primary area of focus is on attachment, They believe that building strong connections between caregivers and children is foundational to the well-being of all family members. To this end, they have received training in Theraplay. They are also in training to become a certified Trauma Focused CBT provider.
Sara is known for their humor, playfulness, and honesty. They believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where children and families feel comfortable exploring their emotions and relationship dynamics to work towards healing. They work collaboratively with families to develop individualized treatment plans that meet their unique needs and goals.
In their spare time, Sara enjoys drawing, audio books, and playing with their cat–Willow.
