Miranda specializes in working with people who have been touched by adoption or foster care (birth parents, adoptees, kids in foster care, etc). She enjoys working with people of all ages. Prior to joining Ellie, Miranda spent several years in the non-profit adoption field and then as a child protection investigator and case manager. She is a graduate of the Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate (PACC) and the Title IV-E Fellowship Program.
Miranda is trained in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET; a type of a trauma therapy) and she loves using modalities like Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
As the Director of Content and Production, Miranda gets to use her creativity and mental health education to manage our Ellie blog, create social media posts, educate therapists with her podcast, and daydream about the next Ellie project.
When she’s not at work, Miranda can be found doing arts and crafts or watching Bluey with her two kids, renovating her house with her husband, or working towards hiking all of the National Parks in the US.
