Hi, my name is Maria, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) supervised by Christia Rogers, LPC-Supervisor. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio and have been in the mental health field for 4 years.
I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults with concerns regarding anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, educational and learning disabilities, OCD, self-esteem, self-harm, anger issues, and stress. I also speak Spanish and specialize in working with immigrants and the LGBTQIA+ population. I understand that therapy can be intimidating, this is why I strive to be gender affirming, sexuality affirming, and culturally mindful in determining an effective therapeutic approach.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching movies, baking, and spending time with my German Shepherd. I also love to read and have read over 80 books in 2024!
