Joana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and proud University of South Florida alumni. She has been specializing in trauma-focused care and child/family therapy since 2005. Joana has utilized evidenced-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy throughout her practice. Joana is enthusiastic to use her Spanish-speaking skills to provide care to a broader community.
Prior to joining Ellie, Joana had the honor of serving military families for 16 years in Hawaii and Germany. She has since returned home to Tampa Bay, and in her personal time enjoys exploring this ever-changing area, finding fun things to do with her little one, and reconnecting with all her loved ones. She loves staying active but also relaxing at the beach with a good book.
