Dana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for social justice and 8 years experience in mental health. She started her career by focusing on survivors of domestic violence and worked in family homeless shelters providing crisis intervention and mental health services. After serving as a youth development volunteer in the Peace Corps, she attended New York University and provided therapy for foster children, adolescents, and families at the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services. Dana’s former roles as a therapist include Austin Oaks Hospital and Eating Recovery Center. She has been with Ellie for 2 years. Dana wishes to create a safe space for all, including LGBTQ+ and clients with alternative relationship styles, to feel welcome to express themselves authentically. She believes building trusting, non-judgmental relationships with clients is at the core of meaningful therapy.
