Elliot D. Cohen holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Florida State University and a PhD in philosophy from Brown University. He integrates Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with strength-based and person-centered approaches, drawing upon his extensive training in critical thinking and diverse philosophical systems, including Stoicism, Buddhism, Existentialism, Theism, Humanism, Feminism, and Pragmatism. Dr. Cohen specializes in helping clients reframe and overcome self-defeating patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior that contribute to challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment issues, relationship difficulties, prolonged grief, obsessiveness, and other cognitive-behavioral and emotional concerns. He provides individual and couples therapy for adults, offering a thoughtful and empowering approach to foster personal growth and meaningful change.
