Steve is passionate about helping people live their best lives. Basing his approach on a collaboration between the therapist and client, he believes “We must meet each person with an intellectual curiosity about his or her perspective, understanding and motivation, providing a safe, judgment free space to grow and change”. Steve believes that compassion, empathy, and autonomy are key elements in the therapeutic process. Steve has over 18 years of experience in behavioral health and substance abuse treatment. As a leader in the field for over 10 years, Steve led his clinic’s recovery center to being Newsweek’s number one residential addiction program in New Jersey. Steve has extensive clinical experience in outpatient, intensive programming, residential and inpatient levels of care. Steve received his master’s degree in social work from USC and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Clinical Supervisor and a Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. Steve has been featured in several publications, radio and podcasts over the years and is a featured speaker at multiple events and seminars where he speaks about his passion for helping his clients.
