Hi! My name is Sheri Sanderson. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I have been practicing under supervision for 2 years and independently since July of 2024. I am a certified SYMBIS marriage counselor, a certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). The modalities I use are person-centered and include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, art and play therapies and more. My passion is working with children, adolescents, and families in crisis. I understand the challenges families and individuals with special needs face, especially managing the care coordination with the child’s schools. I have worked with suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, sexual abuse, self-esteem, communication issues, complex PTSD, autism, ADHD, Couples’ issues, and life stressors. I am an artist on the side working with watercolors, acrylics, clay, Faberge style egg art, diamond art, textile art, jewelry making and more. I published “Incredible Edible Gluten Free Foods for Kids: 150 Family Tested recipes” in 2002 to support children and families with either celiac disease or gluten-casein free diets. It was the first book directed for children in the US and Europe. I have a therapy dog and I love bowling!
