Sara is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed School Adjustment Counselor. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy and teaching art at the middle school level, she returned to school to earn a Master’s Degree in school counseling and CAGS in Mental Health Counseling. She is experienced in working with clients in multiple settings including in-school, outpatient, in-home therapy, and inpatient hospitalization. Sara has a unique background in working with young people and families who receive special education services. She has extensive experience working with individuals with multiple diagnoses including Autism, ADHD, trauma, learning disabilities, anxiety, and depression.
Sara is a believer in the benefit to building a strong therapeutic relationship. She has seen the most growth from clients who are able to be open and honest with their experiences and knows that trust is a key element in this. Her approach is tailored to meet the needs of the client and she draws from a variety of therapeutic models including, but not limited to, CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy. She is passionate about working with people through life transitions and is especially interested in working with neurodivergent adults, college grads, young parents, and the caregivers of the world who give so much of themselves to others.
