Sage Hess, MA

Therapist

I am an expressive art therapist, I work primarily with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ people who struggle to feel seen and validated in the healthcare system and American capitalist systems at large. I enjoy working with people who are seeking a therapist with overlapping lived experiences. I highly value feedback and open communication with clients. In my opinion, the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of good therapy and mutual respect is critical to that. I love working with many age groups ranging from teens to adults.

My work focuses on complex trauma, neurodivergence, sexual abuse, sexuality/gender, and identity exploration. My therapeutic approach is grounded in creative processing, collaboration, co regulation, somatics, authenticity, and approaching trauma through pleasure/sensory-based therapeutic interventions.

I am a queer, trans-nonbinary person who got into the field because I wanted to provide more support for the queer, trans, sex positive, neurodivergent and chronically ill people in my community.
