Rachel Weldon, MA Mental Health Counseling/LMHC

Clinical Supervisor

Starting July 2024.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 14 years experience working with clients in various stages of their life from adolescence through adulthood. When meeting with clients, I believe that building an atmosphere of safety, trust and understanding are essential components in taking steps towards your goals. I have worked with clients in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization and community based settings. The clinical approaches that I lean towards to help clients achieve their goals include CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness and internal family systems, but overall all I take a Strengths-Based and Person-Centered approach so that we can explore different modalities to find what is right for you. I believe that there is no “one size fits all” in therapy and that progress is not linear. Some days you will come in filled with motivation, and other days you may struggle to find it.

Therapy can be hard work, but I want you to know that you have support throughout your good days and your not so good days. Many different emotions come out in therapy and together we can explore those emotions and work towards moving in the direction you want to go. I enjoy teaching and enhancing skill sets so that you can take what you learn in session and use that out into your everyday life with confidence. I have experience working with clients who struggle with substance use disorder, anxiety, depression, navigating family or peer relationships, life transitions, and ADHD.

For my own self care outside of work, I enjoy baking, kayaking, trying to enhance my gardening skills, hiking the easy trails and spending time with my family.
