Priya is drawn to the field of counseling having repeatedly seen the impact of being heard and feeling understood. Priya believes that talk therapy can provide relief and solace for everyone and allow them to feel comfortable in their own skin. Priya is drawn to person-centered approaches that foster empathy and compassion and allow us to build a strong connection that serves as the foundation of our work together. Priya also has training/experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. While serving through an ethical and multicultural lens, Priya hopes to provide a safe and comfortable space for you to explore your deepest thoughts and feelings with me. Priya will work together with you to gain insight and awareness into what skills will better serve you in navigating the challenges you face. Priya recognizes that other approaches and interventions are helpful and implement those when appropriate. She believes that everyone is their own expert. Her role is to support you in utilizing your expertise to become more self-aware, gain insight, and achieve growth. Taking the step to seek counseling is very difficult. Priya recognizes how scary it is to volunteer yourself to let your guard down and be vulnerable. Her goal is to make this journey as comfortable and easy as possible.
