Marion is a licensed professional counselor committed to treating individuals and families. Her professional interests include treating children, adolescents with emotional/behavioral issues, adults struggling with life transitions, family of origin dysfunction, self compassion, trauma, depression and anxiety. Marion’s key focus is on the therapeutic relationship as she believes it is instrumental in creating change. Also, using an integrative model of change, Marion focuses on the strengths of different theories relevant to the individual’s current needs. She strives to create a space in which individuals can relax, safely express thoughts and feelings and feel enriched and empowered. She believes gaining internal power reconstructs a new narrative that brings about clarity, positive insight, understanding and healing. Marion received her bachelor’s degree in education from Birmingham Southern College. She received her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has 27 years of counseling experience an is a counseling supervisor.
