Liana Mattera, LPCA is a dedicated counselor with a warm, safe, and empowering style. She exudes a direct, non judgmental, and collaborative approach to help clients through challenges. Liana is an advocate for a strong and equal therapeutic alliance and is able to connect with clients through humor, validation, and empathy. She has experience with adult dual-diagnosis populations and focuses on substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, trauma disorders, and life transitions. Liana has a strong passion for processing challenges faced by marginalized or vulnerable communities. She uses a personalized theoretical approach to each client including aspects from DBT, Attachment Theory, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. Liana is board certified through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NCC). She is a graduate from Fairfield University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Roger Williams University. When Liana is out of office, you can find her spending time with French bulldogs, watching Gilmore Girls, and drinking coffee.
