Leah Johnson, LAC

Therapist

Hi! Im Leah and I am born and raised in Phoenix, Az (except for the 5 years of living in San Antonio, Tx). I received my Bachelors degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Tx where I was a D1 Synchronized Swimmer (now called Artistic Swimming). Since moving back to Az, I have gained an extensive background in coaching artistic swimming, teaching fitness classes (pilates), and also performing professionally. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University. I am passionate about working with people dealing with performance anxiety and other road blocks that are getting in the way of achieving success, regardless of being on or off the field. I have experience working with people who have OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, and those who are dealing with grief. Other areas I have experience in is separation anxiety, life transitions and adjustments, and various phobias. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adults; and provide individual and couples therapy. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, rational-emotive behavior therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused and strengths-based therapy.
In my spare time, I enjoy baking, cooking, making lattes, as well as swimming (whether for sport or for fun), watch movies (horror, comedies, action, etc), and go on bike rides with my partner and almost 3 year old Bernedoodle puppy
