Lea Kinzer is a provisionally licensed professional counselor with experience working with children and adults in community mental health, private practice, and intensive in-home settings. After six years of teaching, her main passions involve working with young children (3+) and their parents. She also enjoys walking alongside young adults/college students, especially individuals with trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She provides a warm and open environment and often uses an attachment, somatic, and body-based lens people in therapy, and with young children, she integrates therapy through play and art in her sessions. Lea is trained in TF-CBT, Nurturing Parenting, and is working on an ADHD-CCSP certificate. She holds two master’s degrees. Her first is an MS in Applied Child Psychology which informs her work with children with a variety of emotional and behavioral struggles.
The second is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling which informs her counseling and person-centered approach with all clients. It is an incredibly brave thing to reach out for help. Whether you are a parent, trying to break generational cycles of negative parenting, a youth who finally opened up saying you need help, or a survivor in need of support and healing, you will be welcomed and nurtured in Lea’s office and Ellie’s community.
