Keegan Friedrichs is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Licensed Chemical Dependency Intern, supervised by Phillip Benavides, MS, LPC-S, NCC, C-DBT. Keegan graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Keegan has experience working with teenagers who are struggling with substance use and working with clients who have PTSD, anxiety, and depression. She is passionate about working with children and teenagers who have experienced traumatic events. Keegan also sees the value of a system-based approach and can include parents and support persons in each stage of the healing journey. Keegan wants to help clients gain the knowledge and skills to cope with life circumstances. She believes in providing clients with a safe, non-judgmental space to process life events and to identify and express emotions. She has experience using Trauma-Focused CBT, CBT, mindfulness-based treatment, and Adlerian approaches to find what works best for each client and their individual needs.
