Katie is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who has a passion for empowering people to find their strengths and become the best versions of themselves. Katie comes to Ellie having over 16 years of experience in the mental health field including work as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) therapist, behavioral health therapist, in-home family therapist, residential facility therapist, and home health/hospice medical social worker. She also has experience working with diverse populations and has supported clients through individual, couple, family, and group therapy. Katie is currently accepting clients via telehealth. Katie has a special interest working with young adults, adults, and older adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, chronic illness, and self-esteem. She strives for a safe, comfortable environment where clients can feel heard, supported, and accepted for who they are. Katie utilizes a variety of different treatment methods and feels it is important to modify her interventions to the specific needs of each client. Katie’s primary objective is to meet every client where they are at in life and help them gain insight into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and develop effective strategies to improve their mental health and overall quality of life. Outside of work Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, baking and cooking.
