Josie Kisch

School Based Mental Health Practitioner

Josie is an empathetic, warm and welcoming person. She believes it is important to recognize where the client is emotionally and meet them at their level. Josie has experience working with the Early Childhood population, and is eager to expand her competencies working with school age children and adolescents.

Josie utilizes several different techniques in her therapeutic style that include play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and a client-centered approach. She believes the client is the expert on their thoughts and feelings; and as such, she allows them to take the lead in sessions together. She combines creativity and humor into her work to instill authentic and meaningful relationships with her clients.

Outside of work, Josie enjoys partaking in a variety of different hobbies including arts and crafts, baking and being outside. She also indulges in “nerdy” stuff (ie. Harry Potter, Marvel, Star Wars, Lego etc.), and is always trying to make others laugh!
