Dr. Jenna Mercadante, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. She has over 10 years’ experience working with adults with mood & anxiety disorders, such as depression, bipolar, generalized anxiety and panic disorders. She specializes in providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to those living with disorders of emotion regulation, such as Borderline Personality Disorder. Additionally, she has extensive experience treating combat-related trauma in military veterans utilizing Cognitive Processing Therapy, an empirically-supported treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
When working with individuals seeking treatment, she takes a person-centered, holistic approach, focusing on the client’s particular needs, preferences, and strengths and incorporating those into a practical & collaborative treatment plan. She views individuals as more than their psychiatric diagnosis, and thus, seeks to encourage personal growth & recovery (as opposed to only symptom reduction). She utilizes a cognitive-behavioral therapeutic approach while incorporating mindfulness techniques, focusing on the thoughts that fuel unhealthy patterns and learning different ways of responding to these thoughts.
