Jeanette Garza, Licensed Professional Counselor

Therapist

Jeanette is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who brings warmth, authenticity, and a strengths-based perspective to her work with adults, older teens, and families. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University and is passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges with resilience and self-compassion.

Using a person-centered, collaborative approach, Jeanette believes clients already possess the inner strength to heal—therapy simply provides a safe space to reconnect with that power. Her compassionate, nonjudgmental style allows clients to show up as their full selves and feel truly seen and heard.

Jeanette integrates psychoeducation, mindfulness, and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, challenge negative thought patterns, and build practical coping tools. Her sessions often include a balance of reflection and skills-building to promote both insight and action.

She has experience supporting individuals and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship struggles. In her work with teens and families, she values open communication and helps bridge generational divides, especially during times of change and identity development.

Clients appreciate Jeanette’s steady, down-to-earth presence and her ability to make therapy feel both grounded and empowering. She is committed to providing inclusive, values-driven care that honors each person’s story and supports meaningful, lasting change.

Outside of work, Jeanette enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, watching Chicago sports, and relaxing with her cat, Daisy. Her love of connection and community shines through in every therapeutic relationship.
