Janis Rios, MA, LPC, NCC

Therapist

Therapy is a space curated to meet you where you are at as we navigate the whirlwind that life can be. It is a space for empowerment, learning new tools, and perhaps exploring different perspectives. Each session will be a collaboration and Janis hopes to support individuals to become more intune with themselves and explore their emotions, thoughts, habits, identity, selfesteem and more through a non-judgemental space. Janis has always been passionate about helping others understand their mental health. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois.

She most frequently utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and trauma informed approaches to holistically address each person. Through this interdisciplinary approach we can find creative interventions that will provide you with the tools to mitigate the challenges you may be currently facing.

Janis has a wide range of experiences working with individuals experiencing psychosis, daily anxiety, depression, stress management, interpersonal relationships, career changes/choices, life transitions, and/or other challenges at work, home, or school. Janis’ experiences include working with people of varying: gender identities, sexual orientations, socio-economic status, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. She works with children, adolescents, and young adults. Seeking therapy takes courage and vulnerability and she looks forward to walking beside you on your journey towards radical self-acceptance and healing, one step at the time.
