Ian is a Licensed Master Social Worker and is currently working towards his Clinical License. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters of Social Work in 2018, and his experience is in community mental health focusing on suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
Ian is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the infantry with combat deployment to Iraq in 2005. Afterwards, Ian spent 16 years working in Law Enforcement as a sheriff’s deputy, police officer, and detective. It was during this time Ian developed interest in mental health, specifically in suicide prevention and trauma. Ian left law enforcement in 2022 and began working full time in mental health, and believes his experience provides him a unique understanding of challenges faced by first responders and veterans, including divorce, shift work, combat, critical incident stress, separation from family, and burnout.
When not working, he loves spending time with friends and family, traveling with his wife, or chasing his kids around.
