Ms. Swart is a Compassionate Realist. She is an Army Veteran, served as a Combat Medic/Paramedic, and as an RN in an intensive care unit (ICU). During her career, Dee recognized the disparity of mental health care. In 2019-she achieved her master’s degree with a license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and in 2023-she completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She is native to San Antonio, has three children, an avid sports fan, active in the gym, a movie buff, and mediocre karaoke singer with a decent stage presence.
