Christie Hennigan is a licensed Mental Health provider as well as board certified to provide License Eligible Supervision. Christie is the Clinical Director based out of our newly opened Yorktown: Kiln Creek, VA location. She received her bachelor’s in psychology from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York and her master’s in psychology from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a military spouse, Christie has had the opportunity to work nationally, as well as internationally, developing a diverse spectrum of cultural awareness and experience amongst a vast and unique population of Clientele. Christie and her family have recently retired from the military and purchased a home in James City with excitement at the prospect of growing roots – a hard concept for many whose lives are dictated by the military. This opportunity allows Christie to take on this new role developing, opening and growing a new program and new approach to the treatment of mental health. Christie has worked with children and adolescents in many capacities and has a strong passion for helping our youth develop the skills and strategies to manage their lives. Although one passion is children and adolescents, Christie has specializations in working with Families, Couples, Military, and those whom have experienced Trauma. Christie has been vetted with the courts as an expert in trauma and advocates strongly to help those overcome experiences that can be debilitating. Christie is passionate about expanding the availability of services to all families on the Peninsula and utilizing an individual based client-centered approach.
