Welcome! I am April and have the honor of being the Clinical Director here at Ellie Mental Health – Richmond Texas. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Webster University – Kansas City in 2012. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. I have been in the social service field for over two decades, working in a variety of settings that include Outpatient, In patient, In home, Non-Profit, community-based organizations, Residential treatment facilities, private practice and Corporate.
As a licensed professional I work with individuals dealing with Trauma, Grief, Stress related disorders, Life transitions, Managing emotions, Caregiver stress, Parenting, Relationship/Marital health and behavior modification. Additionally, I have years of experience working directly with Adolescents and Adults with autism diagnoses and providing Christian counseling.
I am passionate about advocating, educating, providing awareness and equipping individuals with tools and skills to become the best version of themselves in order to build healthy families that will build stronger communities and organizations.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, learning new things and I absolutely love being nurtured by nature!
