Api Mudoh, LCSW

Therapist

Api Mudoh MSW, LCSW obtained her dual bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice and Sociology from Bradley University, and master’s of Social Work from Aurora University. Api provides a creative, safe space where individuals can feel comfortable, understood, and secure to express themselves freely, without judgment, while empowering clients. Api is also welcoming of individuals who would like to incorporate their spiritual and/or religious beliefs into their healing journey and growth process. Depending on their individual needs, she uses a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients. It’s important to remember that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all solution and that is how Api approaches each session. She assists in developing coping skills tailored to help manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other common mental health struggles. These approaches can range from deep breathing exercises to journaling to practicing mindfulness to name a few. Api’s previous clinical experience includes working with individuals who bravely face daily struggles with their mood, anxiety, feelings of frustrations, or have experienced grief/loss. Api has worked with adult individuals and families in a variety of settings: nursing homes, community mental health, hospital psychiatry, and the Veteran Administration. Outside of work you can find Api attending various school actives for her daughter, hanging with her friends and to unwind she binge watches reality TV and decorates her new home. Currently, Api and her family are searching for a new pet dog.
