Angela Dirks, MA

Therapist, Art Psychotherapist

Angela is an Art Psychotherapist and Pre-licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned a dual Masters in Art Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling with additional training in Trauma-Informed CBT, Mindfulness, Applied Neuroscience, Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.

Angela facilitates creative experiences and purposeful play in collaboration with clients to explore their “visual voice” to make meaning for better understanding of self, overall wellness and transformative change. She is passionate about identifying and using strengths for connections and movement toward therapeutic goals. Art making is encouraged but not required and the focus is on process over product. She welcomes the use of stick figures and uses over 20+ years of creative experience to adapt interventions to meet client need.

Angela provides a safe, neuro-affirming and nonjudgmental environment to promote empowerment, self-compassion and acceptance. Specializations include neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD) and their families and caregivers. Angela also provides support for parenting, life transitions, chronic stress and pain, career burnout, processing grief and loss, and anxiety.

Angela’s downtime consists of all things design and art-related, reading multiple books simultaneously, intentionally moving and drinking more water, carpooling to/from athletics and extracurricular activities, and building community with family and friends and neighbors.
