Andrea is compassionate and encouraging and believes mental wellness is a journey. Her calm, approachable demeanor and cultural sensitivity creates a positive, safe environment where clients feel comfortable sharing. Andrea began her career in social work at Hazelden, a chemical dependency adult treatment center. In 2000, she moved north to Grand Rapids, MN with her family and provided in-home services with families to address a variety of mental health needs. In this role, she worked with families to address family conflict and communication difficulties while supporting family members of all ages. Andrea later went to work in a rural school to address mental health concerns for students aging 8-19. She was able to identify a need for addressing students on a deeper level with their historical and current trauma related issues.

Andrea has experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger control, parenting strategies, oppositional defiant, low self-esteem, and suicidality. She has over 20 years of experience working with familial conflicts, parent/child relationships, incarcerated parents, grief and loss, and chemical dependency. Andrea believes in learning and actively listening to client’s values and unique experiences to create an understanding of the whole person.
