Adela Yu, MSS, LCSW

Therapist

Adela is a licensed clinical social worker experienced in working with children, adolescents, and families. She has worked in Outpatient and IBHS helping clients of diverse populations address challenges with, but not limited to, ADHD, depression, anxiety, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and trauma. Her approach to therapy is person-centered, culturally sensitive, trauma informed, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, meeting the client where they are at. Adela respects the client’s right to self-determination and seeks to empower clients to become more autonomous. Adela values and prioritizes creating a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. She forms this by providing a consistent, collaborative, nonjudgmental and welcoming space for clients where they feel comfortable to be their authentic selves. Adela utilizes various evidence-based practices depending on the needs of the client, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT). Adela aims for clients to feel safe, seen and heard, in hopes that their experience in therapy feels genuine, meaningful, and helpful. She is grateful and honored to be a part of a person’s journey in healing. In her free time, Adela enjoys walking at parks, baking, visiting museums and gardens, and doing activity classes with friends. She’s also a fan of the color blue, Disney, and Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki movies.
