Adela is a licensed clinical social worker experienced with a diverse population of clients. She has worked in Outpatient and IBHS settings helping clients address challenges with, but not limited to, ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Her approach to therapy is person-centered, culturally sensitive, trauma informed, and tailored to each client’s unique needs, meeting the client where they are at. Adela respects the client’s right to self-determination and seeks to empower clients to become more autonomous. Adela values and prioritizes creating a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. She forms this by providing a consistent, collaborative, nonjudgmental and welcoming space for clients where they feel comfortable to be their authentic selves. Adela utilizes various evidence-based practices depending on the needs of the client, including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, play therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy (TF-CBT) along with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Treatment (EMDR). Adela aims for clients to feel safe, seen and heard, in hopes that their experience in therapy feels genuine, meaningful, and helpful. She is grateful and honored to be a part of a person’s journey in healing. In her free time, Adela enjoys walking at parks, baking, visiting museums and gardens, and doing activity classes with friends. She’s also a fan of the color blue, Disney, and Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki movies.
