Sliding Scale Policy
Ellie Mental Health (“Ellie”) offers a sliding fee scale to eligible individuals, as we believe that everyone deserves affordable mental health care.
Eligibility for this program is determined based on a person’s ability to pay and Ellie will not discriminate in the provision of health care services to an individual: because the individual is unable to pay for the health care services; because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP); or based upon the race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. To qualify for Ellie’s sliding fee scale, clients must meet the criteria outlined below.
Definitions:
- Family: A family is defined a group of two or more people related by birth, marriage, or adoption who reside together. All such related persons are considered as members of one family. Additionally, individual who have lived together for at least 3 years and share family financial responsibilities and household expenses, as well as multi-generational families living together, will also be considered part of the family.
- Family Size: Family size includes the head of the household, their spouse, children, any other dependents living in the household, and any individuals who meet the extended family definition described above.
- Income: Income includes earnings from work, net earnings from self-employment, unemployment compensation, public assistance, Social Security payments, and any other sources of income.
