Michael Atkinson, MA, LPCC

Therapist

Michael works with adults and adolescents who feel stuck in some part of their life. They may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, grief, or some other ongoing challenge. Michael provides a supportive, authentic, and collaborative environment designed to help clients explore their life and discover their unique path forward that supports their personal style and strengths.

Michael’s specialty is helping adults and adolescence address issues related to anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. Due to his background and education, he also tends to connect well with those who work in creative fields. In addition, he has specialty training and experience in serving the unique needs of male clients.

Michael supports clients using a variety of approaches and techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. At the heart of all of these approaches is a common theme: helping people become more aware of themselves so they can move towards a deeper, more meaningful life.
