Veronica Martin-Perkins, LPC-A

Therapist

I am excited to join the Ellie Mental Health team as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Dr. Angela Powell, LPC-S. I bring a wealth of experience, education, and passion to this role, developed over nearly three decades of dedicated service in education and counseling.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood from Texas Southern University and dual master’s degrees from Prairie View A&M University—a Master of Arts in Counseling with a minor in Marriage and Family and a Master of Education in Educational Administration. I am also pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Counseling Education and Supervision at Walden University. Additionally, I am a Certified Trauma and Resilience Specialist (CTRP) and hold Texas certifications in Teaching, School Counseling, and Principalship.

My professional journey includes 29 years in education as an EC-12 school counselor, classroom teacher, district administrator, higher education program manager, and adjunct instructor. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with individuals across all age groups, including survivors of domestic violence, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and families navigating trauma-induced situations.

My approach to counseling is rooted in my lifelong passion for learning and serving others. I am dedicated to providing impactful mental health services to individuals who seek support in overcoming traumatic or life-circumstantial challenges. I believe life does not always equip us with the tools to cope with every situation. Through perseverance, resilience, and a trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship, I aim to help clients develop the skills and strategies necessary to navigate life’s complexities.

Together, we can build a collaborative path toward healing, growth, and mindfulness, empowering you to overcome barriers and achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
