Tasja is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor with a dual master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of the District of Columbia. She provides affirming, culturally responsive therapy for individuals, couples, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, specializing in anxiety, life transitions, chronic illness, and a wide range of mental health concerns and disorders.
Grounded in Gestalt and humanistic principles, Tasja fosters a collaborative, non-judgmental space where clients can deepen self-awareness, cultivate authentic connections, and create meaningful change. Her counseling style blends warmth and directness, encouraging clients to explore both thought patterns and emotional experiences while building practical coping strategies.
Tasja’s professional path reflects her dedication to holistic care. She draws on her experiences working with clients managing chronic health conditions, including sickle cell disease, and integrates solution-focused and strengths-based techniques to help people move toward the lives they envision. She is also skilled in crisis intervention and has supported individuals and families through acute mental-health emergencies, providing stabilizing care and safety planning during times of heightened stress. She values cultural humility and is committed to equitable mental health access for Black and multicultural communities.
Outside the therapy room, Tasja is an advocate for mental health education and community wellness. She believes in the power of curiosity, creativity, and self-compassion to support growth at every stage of life. Her goal is to partner with clients as they navigate challenges, celebrate breakthroughs, and build a life that feels both balanced and vibrant.
