Hey there, I’m Skyhler! I am an Associate Licensed Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-I who specializes in working with couples, families, individuals, and children. I graduated from Auburn University with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology before earning my master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling and a certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you are and create a space where you feel seen, supported, and understood. I believe our relationships, with partners, family members, friends, and ourselves, play an important role in shaping our lives. Working with couples and families is a particular passion of mine. When communication breaks down, trust is damaged, or conflict feels overwhelming, it can be difficult to find your way back to one another. I believe relationships can heal, families can reconnect, and stronger foundations can be built. My goal is to help individuals, couples, and families strengthen their connections and create meaningful and lasting change. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also incorporate play-based interventions with children, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Method interventions with couples, and Structural and Bowenian approaches with families. I believe vulnerability takes courage. Choosing to come to therapy and share your story is a meaningful act of strength, and together we can work toward building the life and relationships that matter most to you.
