Sarah Hastings, MA, LCMHCA

Pronouns: she/her

As a counselor, Sarah’s priority is to foster a safe and accepting environment so clients can empower themselves and thrive. Sarah graduated with her Master’s in Counseling in 2023 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has counseled in college counseling and agency settings. She has experience in helping clients navigate various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, and stress management. Sarah operates from a client-centered lens and uses individualized evidence-based approaches that include (but are not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. With a background in art, she also likes to incorporate expressive techniques to help clients explore a wide range of emotions and experiences.

Ellie Mental Health and Sarah share an important value- authenticity! She brings this value into her sessions and meets clients wherever they are in life. Ellie’s emphasis on accessibility to mental healthcare is something Sarah holds close to her heart- often, marginalized communities especially struggle with obtaining quality mental health services. She is particularly passionate about serving the LGBTQ+ community through counseling and advocacy.

Outside of the office, Sarah likes drawing, playing cozy video games (with Stardew Valley being a favorite), and snuggling with her dog!
