I am a licensed therapist with significant experience using CBT, TF-CBT, and ABA methods. I have been working with children, adolescents, and young adults for nearly ten years now in the differing fields of education, recreational supervision, case management, ABA therapy, and outpatient services.
My Rutgers University education coupled with my professional experience endowed me with the appropriate tools to effectively engage and intervene with my clients using evidence-based methods that are mutually implemented and altered with the client/client’s family’s input. I utilize and emphasize a person/client-oriented approach to my practice; ensuring that self-determination and self-motivation are the main driving factors in sessions. Therapeutic sessions with my approach consist of identifying maladaptive thought/behavior patterns, working through emotions with cultural sensitivity and awareness, using interventions tailored to unique individual experiences, and being intentionally receptive to feedback and suggestions.
The driving factor in my mission to be a therapist is to provide a space of comfort and safety to empower clientele through overcoming life stressors, cognitive challenges, and behavioral issues. I intend to be the agent of change that walks with my clients as we change their life situation from surviving to thriving. Simply put, I want my services as a therapist to be so incredibly thorough, holistic, and suitable that lessons learned and issues resolved are sustained long after sessions conclude.
Personally, I wanted to become a therapist to give the same quality of service and attentiveness that I was blessed to receive; to be the reliable figure in the storm of confusion, anger, and/or sadness that empowers the person through it.
