Preya is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC). Preya is passionate about building safe relationships and has extensive experience working with children and young adults. Preya earned her Master’s Degree at Thomas Jefferson University in Community and Trauma Counseling specializing in Art Therapy. In addition to talk and art therapy, Preya utilizes a range of interventions to meet the client’s needs and interests. This can include use of play, music, writing and more; catering to all age groups. Preya values taking the time to get to know the client and allowing them to become empowered to take the lead in their mental health journey. In her experience, Preya has found that inviting her clients to have a voice in their care allows them to become advocates for themselves and an example for others.
In her personal time, Preya enjoys raising her three beautiful nieces, and spunky cat MewMew. She enjoys volunteering in the community with her church and hosting friends and family with good food and laughs. Preya stays engaged reading and pursuing her own creative hobbies in multi-media art, fashion, and travel.
