Pierra Dewitt-Brown, ATR

Therapist

I’m Pierra Dewitt-Brown, a Registered Art Therapist who works with children (6+), teens, adults and older adults to support emotional regulation, reduce stress, and build insight through a creative and collaborative therapeutic process. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, identity exploration, or the pressures of simply being human in a complicated world, I’m here to hold space for you—exactly as you are. I believe healing happens when we’re met with compassion and curiosity, not correction. And while art therapy is a powerful tool I use in session, therapy with me doesn’t require you to pick up a paintbrush (unless you want to!). Sometimes healing looks like drawing. Other times, it looks like talking it out with someone who truly gets it.

My style is warm, direct, and infused with humor, because I know therapy can be intimidating and a little laughter goes a long way. I aim to create a space where you feel seen and supported without ever feeling judged. Whether you’re someone who needs a structured, goal-oriented approach or someone who benefits from open-ended reflection, I adjust to your rhythm. Some days you might feel like jumping into a creative art directive tied to a therapeutic goal, and other days you might just need to talk through the weight of the week. Either way, I’m here for it. Your process is valid.

I particularly enjoy and specialize in working with neurodivergent clients, folks navigating high stress environments, veterans and their families and especially those who have been impacted by systemic violence or generational trauma. My areas of clinical focus include anxiety, stress-related conditions, self-esteem, perfectionism, confidence-building, mood regulation, and adjustment-related issues. I also support clients navigating family transitions, school or work overwhelm, and identity development.

Much of my passion lies in helping people reconnect with their sense of self. That might mean unpacking how early experiences shaped your inner voice, identifying where stress is living in your body, or reimagining the ways you show up in relationships. I believe boundaries are not just barriers—they’re invitations for how we want to be treated. Together, we’ll explore what it looks like to advocate for your needs, feel empowered in your choices, and build resilience through both expressive tools and grounded coping skills.

While my foundation is in person-centered art therapy, I also draw from CBT, ACT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I take a holistic approach to healing—considering your full context, culture, environment, and identity. I work relationally, meaning our connection matters. I want you to feel safe, understood, and celebrated in this space. If that means we explore heavy topics with care or take time to notice your wins (big or small), I’ll be there every step of the way.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a proud cat mom to Grace Jones and Josephine Baker (yes, they’re fabulous). I recharge by doing Pilates, gymnastics, and MMA—movement has always been a source of strength and self-care for me. You’ll also find me playing the latest game on my Nintendo Switch (especially if it features cats) between sessions and outside of work. I love bringing creative energy into my work—and I never take for granted how brave it is to show up for therapy.

Whether you’re looking to build confidence, process through something hard, or just feel like yourself again, I hope to offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to grow at your own pace. Healing is not always linear, but it is always worth it—and I’d be honored to walk alongside you in the process.

Let’s create something meaningful together—even if that starts with just a conversation.
