Hi! I’m Olivia, a current M.Ed. student in the Counselor Education program at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am passionate about becoming a child therapist with a special interest in working with adoptees and children in the foster care system. I believe in creating safe, nurturing spaces where children feel seen, heard, and valued—especially those who have experienced significant transitions, loss, or challenges related to their identity.
My counseling approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and cultural humility. I take an integrative, client-centered approach. I strive to meet children where they are developmentally and emotionally, using creative and relational methods to help them explore their feelings, build resilience, and develop a strong sense of self. I’m particularly committed to helping children navigate issues related to identity, trauma, anxiety, and emotional regulation.
I also believe in working collaboratively with caregivers and systems of support to create stability and healing. Outside of school and counseling, I enjoy photography, spending time with friends and family, reading, and discovering new places to eat.
