Nina believes that establishing a strong connection and trust are the most important foundations for any therapeutic relationship. This involves empathy, compassion, and sometimes even some humor. She utilizes a person-centered and strengths-focused approach to collaborate with clients in striving toward personal growth. She also utilizes a trauma-informed approach, aware of the many significant impacts on both the mind and body. To be present with the whole person means to consider the client’s past traumas, their future goals, and their current passions. One of Nina’s passions is adapting play therapy for use with adolescents and even adults, mainly through roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons (D&D). She has had experience working with adolescents and adults with varying diagnoses, both in outpatient and inpatient settings. In her free time, Nina enjoys crocheting, painting, video games, and playing D&D with her friends.
