Melissa Reyes, LMHCa

Therapist

I’m an LMHCa with a BA in Psychology from American Military University and a Masters in Counseling from Geneva College. I have experience working with children, teens, adults, couples and families. I also have experience working with clients who desire to incorporate their Christian faith into sessions.

I view clients from a holistic perspective which includes examining their current environment and relationships as well as their family of origin. I’m eclectic in my approach and enjoy combining mindfulness, parts work and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when working with clients. I believe that the way we interact with those closest to us reveals valuable information about how we view ourselves and the world so I encourage clients to include family members in sessions, if desired.

I specialize in childhood trauma, whether it’s working with children in the midst of it, parents trying to break generational cycles, couples trying not to step on each other’s trauma or individuals seeking healing from old wounds. I help clients with an array of concerns such as depression, anxiety, anger, codependency, abuse recovery, attachment, adoption, self-worth and parenting.
