Maya Baca, MFT

Therapist

Empowering you to reclaim the narrative surrounding your “why” and rediscovering how you make sense of your life story is my goal. Through a narrative and strength-based approach, I support client’s reconstruction of compassionate self-identity and working on building a toolbox of self-regulating skills to aid in managing stress and discomfort in life. The experience of being seen and understood is incredibly valuable in my work to help client’s release shame, embarrassment and trauma in the therapy room. Treatment goals often include embracing intersectional identities; identifying, labeling and processing emotions; and building confidence.

I specialize in working with adolescent and teens, particularly those aged 9 to 18 and their family units to provide a space for family interventions to take place. Treatment of family units often include strengthening skills for conflict management, supporting honest dialogue between members, and encouraging families to grow together through adversities.

I work in a traditional therapy office setting but also am able to see clients virtually.

It takes courage to reach out for support. I’m here to provide a judgement-free, empathetic space to explore the context and stories that make up your life experiences.
