Matt Macarus, LPCC

Therapist

Hi, my name is Matt. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, supported, and truly understood. I work primarily with children and younger adolescents experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional challenges, and life transitions. I also support adults navigating stress, parenting concerns, and the complexities of everyday life.

Using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and person-centered approach, I strive to create a space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills. When working with children, I recognize that emotions are not always expressed through words, so I incorporate play-based interventions, connection, and creativity to help them process their feelings and experiences in ways that feel natural and safe.

My therapeutic approach draws from Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. My goal is to help clients feel heard, empowered, and supported as they navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful growth and healing.
