Mackenzie Freeman, Master's in Mental Health Counseling

Therapist

Hi, I’m Kenzie, and I’m glad you’re here!

Reaching out for help can be scary, but I believe therapy doesn’t have to be. I’m passionate about creating a relaxed, fun, and safe space where everyone is free to be their fully authentic self. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know the importance of an affirming therapeutic environment. Whatever your or your child’s identity, you are welcome here. I have experience working with individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, trauma, and transgender and gender-expansive youth.

I’m here to provide support for kids and teens navigating life’s ups and downs. Whether they’re struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, or the challenges that LGBTQIA+ individuals face in today’s world, I’m here to help.

My approach to therapy is strengths-based, person-centered, and collaborative. I believe that the therapeutic approach should be tailored to the individual and that everyone, no matter what age, has wonderful and unique strengths that deserve to be recognized and celebrated as a driving factor in the healing process. I work together with kids and their families in setting goals and finding what healing means to them. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, alongside elements of expressive therapies that harness creativity and play as a part of the healing journey. Whatever part of that journey you and your child are on, I’m here to help.

When I’m not practicing therapy, you can find me exploring the outdoors, cooking new recipes, and engaging in my creative hobbies such as drawing, knitting, and painting.
