Lisa Cesso, MA

Therapist

A Boston native, I graduated with a MA in Education from Springfield College in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Honoring an Existential Philosophy, my aim is to help others live authentically from a place of meaning and purpose while signifying the power of freedom of choice in the most challenging times. Although these difficulties may seem impossible, they provide a chance for a renewed perspective towards an opportunity for learning and growth. As a former MA State Trooper, I learned the unlimited potential of the body and the mind while obtaining years of experience working with victims of trauma, providing crisis intervention and community policing. I went on to study Holistic Health becoming an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, researching the direct correlation on how nutrition and lifestyle affect our health and connection to personal wellbeing. Certified in Yoga, Meditation and breath work, I am dedicated to incorporating these Eastern healing techniques with Western Psychology. I understand that everyone has a unique background and situation, therefore sessions are creatively tailored to each individual. For example, in one situation Cognitive Behavioral Therapy may be relevant while another may need an artistic lens to express oneself. Always taking a trauma informed and evidence based approach, I look forward to working with individuals and families. I would also love the chance to work with First Responders seeking to reduce stress. Overall, my aim is to provide a safe space designed for you to focus on your personal goals, self awareness, physical/emotional balance and have a sense of ease.
